“The power of youth is the common wealth for the entire world. The faces of young people are the faces of our past, our present and our future. No segment in the society can match with the power, idealism, enthusiasm and courage of the young people.” Said Kailash Satyarthi. We live in a highly populated society with almost sixty-six percentage of its population as youth population. The power that the youth of our nation holds is something one cannot even fathom. Today’s youth are more inclined with revolutionary spirit and seeks to raise their voice against parochialistic ideologies, they believe in altruism and unlike before they are the most informed fragments of our society. They never fail to foreground the transformation their vigour would brings the society. On 9th December 2023 during the 69th National Conference and to mark the day of it entering into the era of elixir (‘Amrit Kaal’) the members of the world’s biggest student organisation named Akila Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) went on a parade from Indraprastha, New Delhi shouting ‘Imayam mudhal Kumari varai- ore Nadu ore makal’ when translated means ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’. Being a person who participated in the rally, I felt it to be an inconceivable illusion owing to the commotion Article 370 has caused. Exactly one day after the rally, the Honourable Supreme Court of India pronounced the landmark judgement on 11th December 2023 upholding the Government’s act of revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogation of Article 370. It is a surreal moment for the whole country thereby manifesting that student’s power is indeed the Nation’s power.
